Your name will never be revealed outside of BSA | The Software Alliance unless required by law. We take all appropriate measures to ensure your confidentiality and the confidentiality of your case at all times.
The process is simple. Just fill out this confidential three step piracy reporting form with as much information as you can recall and submit it to BSA. Our in-house investigative team will follow up with you as appropriate and begin their investigation of the target company. Based on your information and our investigation, BSA will then pursue the action that we feel is warranted.
To learn the progress of your report, we ask that you please call our piracy hotline at 800.810.0036. A BSA | The Software Alliance team member will provide you with the latest information. Please note that the investigative process is very thorough and can take several months for significant developments.
The amount you receive will depend on whether a case has been successfully settled and the settlement monies paid by the company you reported. BSA retains full rights on deciding on the amount of reward. As a loose guide, rewards are based on the amount of assistance you provided in the case and a percentage of the monies paid by the company you reported. This is usually between 3% and up to 10% of the amount paid.
A reward will be paid only if BSA pursues an investigation and, as a direct result of the information provided by you, receives a monetary settlement from the reported organization. This process could take several months. If the reward requirements have been met, then BSA will consider you for a reward payment. For further information, please see the section entitled Terms and Conditions available on the BSA website.
You will receive an email reply from BSA | The Software Alliance soon after submitting your piracy report. In addition, a BSA team member will reach out to you over the next 72 hours to confirm your report has been received.
